Feel your best.
The need for a new model
After 10,000 hours of teaching and studying Pilates, I believe that it is the most potent method of movement I have encountered. However, the complexity of the human body means that addressing the mechanics and alignment of the musculoskeletal system isn’t sufficient for optimal health and well-being.
Additions necessary
Joseph Pilates didn’t just exercise. He believed that “above all, learn how to breathe correctly,” and “never fail to get all the sunshine and fresh air you can.” He himself used other modalities to promote health. I myself have had to explore other modalities to be my best self.
Questions and Answers
I am curious. I ask many questions and spend my free time reading books and researching answers. If diet and exercise are the answers, why are people sicker than ever before? Why are people who are not diagnosably sick sleeping poorly, experiencing brain fog, lacking energy and motivation, and feeling stiff and “old?”
Better cells, better tissues, better you.
I believe true solutions will need to act at a cellular level. Then instead of addressing each body system or organ in isolation through a variety of specialists, you can give your cells the foundation they need and the result will be improved health across the body.
Optimize session
My new model of instruction still has Pilates at the foundation, but it also incorporates other modalities to optimize your mind, body, and spirit. Lessons are 70-minutes, allowing for a thorough Pilates session followed by additional possibilities:
Breath work
Meditation
Lymphatic stimulation
Face exercise
Healing touch
